 Nova Vita Domestic Violence Prevention Services directed the design and manufacture of the daisy pins, as well as the selling boxes and posters featuring the slogan: Buy a daisy and help us help abused women and their children. Because a life without violence is the only life to live.
A unique feature of the campaign is that it allows organizations and the public to "think globally and act locally." Organizations benefit from being part of a province-wide campaign that grows stronger with the addition of each new community. At the same time, participating organizations have the freedom to plan and manage their own campaigns, to retain all donations, and to use the funds in ways that will best help the victims of domestic violence in their respective areas.
Campaign Objectives
- Increase awareness of domestic abuse.
- Raise funds for programs and services to help abused women and children.
- Promote the good work of shelters and other organizations dedicated to stopping violence against women.
- Establish the daisy as a symbol of hope for lives free from violence.
- Provide a cost effective means for shelters to fund raise and educate the public in their respective communities.
